That fight may very well be Namajunas defending the title in a rematch he’s been preparing against Esparza for years. Those two battled for the belt in 2014, with Esparza the winner. After sitting for an extended period, Jedrzejczyk is eager to return to the Octagon, so she wants to confront Weili.
“I thought it could be Carla Esparza, but [it’s] confirmed that she is the next to fight for the championship, “Jedrzejczyk said. [Maria] Rodríguez, who also fights Yan [Xiaonan] in March, and [then it] becomes Zhang Weili. I don’t see any other fight. I’m just going for the belt. “
“Dana [White] He made me an offer to fight for the championship, but I would have to wait until November-December and I don’t want to wait. I want to fight.”
Since his last successful title defense against Jessica Andrade in May 2017, Jedrzejczyk is 2-4 in his last six fights and 2-2 in his last four. She has attempted to capture the UFC flyweight title in the past and tried to regain her former glory with the Weili fight.
