Fantasy PPR, Standard RB Rankings Week 18: Who to start, sit at running back in fantasy football

If you still play fantasy football in the final week of the NFL season, you are braver than us. Between injuries, COVID, and teams that potentially feel like key players, you never know who will put on the suit until just before kickoff. Nonetheless, we’re doing everything we can to keep you figuring out your starting decisions and sit down with our Week 18 fantasy RB rankings for the standard and PPR leagues.

The big injuries of concern at the beginning of the week are Ronald Jones (ankle), Michael Carter (concussion), Damien Harris (hamstring), Miles Sanders (hand), James Conner (heel) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire ( shoulder). but they are likely to appear closer to the weekend. Aaron Jones and probably AJ Dillon (@ Lions) also play in moderation, if at all, setting Patrick Taylor up for a great Week 18, just as we all predicted in Week 1.

By now, the main clashes are well established. Injuries to offensive linemen or key defensive players can make situations better or worse, but we know the Jets (@ Bills), Chargers (@ Raiders), Seahawks (@ Cardinals), Texans (vs. Titans), Steelers (@ Ravens) , Lions (vs. Packers), Giants (vs. Washington), Raiders (vs. Chargers), Bills (vs. Jets) and Vikings (vs. Bears) were the top 10 teams in terms of fantasy points allowed this Week . 17. The Falcons (vs. Saints) and Jaguars (vs. Colts) were not far behind, and both were roasted on the ground last week.

That creates great opportunities for border starters like the aforementioned Taylor (@ Lions), Devin Singletary and maybe even Zack Moss (vs. Jets), both Cardinals running backs if Conner plays (vs. Seahawks), D’Onta Foreman (@ Texans) , Devonta Freeman and maybe even Latavius Murray (against Steelers), and whoever starts for the Jets if Carter is out, probably Austin Walter or Tevin Coleman (@ Bills). They all have varying degrees of advantage, but they should all have decent flats, with Edmonds and Freeman having more value in the PPR leagues.

On the other hand, the Saints (@ Falcons), Buccaneers (vs. Panthers), Titans (@ Texans), Cardinals (vs. Seahawks), 49ers (@ Rams), and Colts (@ Jaguars) have been particularly tough on fantasy. RBs. He’s not going to sit Cordarrelle Patterson (against Saints), who slump slightly, Rashaad Penny (@ Cardinals) or insurance Sony Michel (against 49ers), but he will have to think twice before Dare Ogunbowale (vs. Colts) , Rex Burkhead (vs. Titans) and Chuba Hubbard (@ Buccaneers). Ogunbowale and Burkhead have higher floors in the PPR leagues, and both could produce well in trash weather, as Ogunbowale did last week, but there are obvious risks with both.

Speaking of PPR floors, the Seahawks (@ Cardinals), Eagles (vs. Cowboys), Buccaneers (vs. Panthers), Bengals (@ Browns), Chiefs (@ Broncos), Jets (@ Bills), and Raiders (vs. Chargers)) all they entered Week 17 allowing at least six RB catches per game. We already mentioned how Edmonds is in a good spot this week, but he obviously looks even better now. The same goes for Kareem Hunt (against Bengals) if he plays. Both Broncos backrests also have slightly raised PPR floors.

Much will change throughout the week as some headlines will be dismissed as a precaution (Saquon Barkley? Antonio Gibson?) And others will be claimed by the reserve / COVID list. We always see unlikely heroes at the end of the season, so grab your handcuffs and get ready to jump.

We will update these RB leaderboards throughout the week, so check back for the latest player movement.
