English Premier League betting odds, lines, picks for EPL Matchday 18

Five Premier League matches for the weekend have already been eliminated due to the COVID-19 outbreaks among the club, as fans were deprived of multiple enjoyable matches, but the rest are scheduled for now.

While Saturday’s board focuses more on teams fighting in the middle of the table, Sunday’s game roster will get any Premier League fan excited. Stories abound, the best teams are at stake, and players seek to stamp their mark on the meat and potatoes of the festive period.

Premier League leaders Manchester City face relegation contenders at Newcastle, and if they emerge victorious, they will be in Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal to keep up. The Gunners will be put to the test with an energetic but lean Leeds United, while Chelsea and Liverpool take the field on Sunday against teams battling for a European spot.

Premier League Odds, Lines, Betting Picks

Here are the lines, spreads and totals for the five games on the list with picks and predictions listed for three of them:

Aston Villa vs. Burnley

  • Money line: Aston Villa -135 / Draw +295 / Burnley +370
  • Spread: Aston Villa -0.5 (-130) / Burnley +0.5 (+115)
  • O / U 2.5 total goals: More than -115 / Less than -105
  • Both teams will score: Yes +360 / No -550

Leeds United vs. Arsenal

  • Money line: Leeds +300 / Draw +285 / Arsenal -115
  • Spread: Arsenal -0.5 (-115) / Leeds +0.5 (+100)
  • O / U 2.5 total goals: Over -140 / Under +120
  • Both teams will score: Yes +285 / No -425

These two teams come to this match in a completely opposite way. Arsenal have found a step, perhaps a case of the AubamEwing theory with the former captain banished from the team for now. He won’t be available for selection for the third game in a row, but Arsenal have looked good so far without him. In the impressive midweek win over West Ham, Arsenal looked comfortable throughout.

Meanwhile, Leeds are in terrible shape, the team is exhausted and coming off their worst joint loss in the Premier League, 7-0 to Man City. With just one win since October, Leeds have conceded 12 goals in their last three games. Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Robin Koch are injured and coach Marcelo Bielsa has not been able to replace them successfully.

On the historical side, Arsenal have not lost to Leeds United in any competition since a loss in the Premier League at the end of the 2002/03 season, famous for being Arsenal’s last loss in the league until October 2004, courtesy of the Invincibles team. That’s a 10-game unbeaten streak for the Gunners over opponents this weekend.

Given Arsenal’s form, the shape of their opponents, and the historical form, it’s a wonder Arsenal aren’t a heavier favorite. People must love betting against the Gunners.

  • To choose: Arsenal Money Line (-115)
  • Prediction: Leeds 1, Arsenal 2

Wolves vs. Chelsea

  • Money line: Wolves +500 / Draw +320 / Chelsea -175
  • Spread: Chelsea -1 (+105) / Wolves +1 (-120)
  • O / U 2.5 total goals: Over +110 / Under -135
  • Both teams will score: Yes +115 / No -150

Chelsea has little offensive talent given its recent COVID-19 outbreak. Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss a second straight game with positive tests, while Kai Havertz was out midweek with a non-COVID illness. Throw in one for absent Ben Chilwell for long-term injuries and the previous positive test for Mateo Kovacic, and the Blues suddenly weaken in areas considered a position of strength only weeks earlier.

The Blues have also had mixed results against the Wolves in recent history, failing to win in three of their last six league games, including a pair of 2-1 losses at Molineux in that span and a 0-0 draw at the most recent result. in January.

While the Wolves aren’t in top shape with just one win in the last five, they still know how to defend themselves. They can’t score though, but they have conceded just two goals in their last six games, including just one against Liverpool and Manchester United, two teams known for their offensive prowess. The home crowd will be eager for the result. Expect Chelsea to face a tough sled, with the hosts able to snatch a point.

  • To choose: Wolves or tie and Under 2.5 total goals (+205)
  • Prediction: Wolves 1, Chelsea 1

Newcastle vs. Manchester City

  • Money line: Newcastle +1400 / Draw +650 / Man City -525
  • Spread: Man City -2 (-105) / Newcastle +2 (-110)
  • O / U 3 total goals: Over -135 / Under +115
  • Both teams will score: Yes +115 / No -150

Tottenham vs. Liverpool

  • Money line: Tottenham +475 / Draw +340 / Liverpool -175
  • Spread: Liverpool -0.5 (+115) / Tottenham +0.5 (-135)
  • O / U 3 total goals: Over +110 / Under -130
  • Both teams will score: Yes -145 / No +110

Liverpool have won their last seven games against Tottenham in all competitions, including the famous Champions League final in 2019. Each of those games had fewer than four goals in total, and all but one had less than three goals in total. . Still, the value is not in the total, where the odds are less than under 3. And Liverpool is too dangerous from the start to bet on that. Instead, the value is on the clean sheet.

Liverpool have only kept two clean sheets against Spurs in that seven-game winning streak over their opponent, but recent history is on the Reds’ side. The Spurs will be rusty after having played just two games since Thanksgiving, with three league games plus a European game postponed. The Spurs have beaten bad teams this season, but against “Top 6” teams, they are underperforming other than a 1-0 win over Man City on the first day of the season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have conceded just one goal in the league since their early November loss to West Ham. This is a healthy and fit Liverpool. Ride the wave.

  • To choose: Liverpool win to zero (+160)
  • Prediction: Tottenham 0, Liverpool 2
