Justin Herbert’s season ended several weeks ago, but one of the best young quarterbacks in the game hasn’t stopped making fools of his opponents.
This time, however, his opponents aren’t NFL linebackers or defensive backs, but kids who play basketball in Herbert’s home state of Oregon.
Herbert, who hails from Oregon and attended Unverisity Oregon, was shown dunking opponents in the rec center dressed in Ducks gear and the 6-foot-6 gunslinger showed no mercy, throwing a few emphatic dunks along the way. .
Looking like the entire pitch general as he does a field one, waving a screen and taking over the game, Herbert went all out.
He makes a living playing soccer, but Herbert is no stranger to the pitch either. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, including basketball and he never played 7v7 because finishing the high school basketball and baseball seasons was important to him.
The second-year QB is far from the only NFL player who enjoys basketball in his spare time, but he is certainly one of the standouts. One of his enemies within the division, Patrick Mahomes, went viral for playing basketball two years ago against the Chiefs. put an end to that over concerns about Mahomes’ injuries.
The Chargers missed the playoffs this year after a Week 18 loss to the Raiders, but it wasn’t because of anything Herbert did or didn’t do. The 23-year-old completed 65.9 percent of his passes while ranking second in passing yards (5,014) and third in passing touchdowns (38), setting numerous Chargers franchise records in the process.
It’s a long offseason and Herbert is a known golfer in addition to his other athletic feats, so he may be making his rounds at gyms and casual games throughout the Beaver State in no time.
