Auburn has lost another player to first-year coach Bryan Harsin. Second-year catcher Kobe Hudson announced Monday that he was leaving the team.
Hudson, in a Instagram post since deleted, stated that he “never wanted to leave Auburn” and said he was expelled from the team. He later created another post, saying his dream was to play at Auburn. His post hinted that a disagreement of some kind with Harsin was the cause of his departure.
Hudson’s departure represents a significant blow to the Tigers’ offense. He led the team in receptions (44) and receiving yards (580) and was tied with Demetrius Robinson for the team’s lead in receptions for touchdowns (four) in 2021. Reports from Auburn Live indicate that Hudson has not yet entered the portal. transfers, but it will “most likely” transfer.
With Hudson’s departure, nine players have transferred or are expected to be transferred from Auburn, including former five-star quarterback Bo Nix. AL.com reports that running back Shaun Shivers, wide receiver Elijah Canion, guard Tashawn Manning, defensive tackle Dre Butler, defensive lineman Caleb Johnson and defensive backs Ahmari Harvey and Ladarius Tennison have also transferred.
