Are there Premier League games this weekend? When are the next EPL matches?

While other English leagues are recovering from the winter break, the Premier League is briefly on hold and will not be in action the weekend of January 7-9.

Clubs in the Premier League, however, continue to take the field.

It’s time for the FA Cup third round in England and therefore this weekend will see all the Premier League and Championship teams face their first match of the FA Cup season. With the first two completed tiers scheduled for national cup competition, league play will be forced to take a break.

But fans won’t have to wait too long for EPL’s next game – there are some rescheduled games from the December COVID-related postponements that put the league back on track a few days earlier than originally planned.

There are three rescheduled Premier League matches that will take place between Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 January. That will be quickly followed by a full Matchday 22 on the weekend of January 14-16.

When are the next Premier League matches?

After the weekend of FA Cup third round action with 32 matches played across England, the Premier League will take center stage once again with several key head-to-head matches at both ends of the table.

The action resumes with three of the 17 games that have been postponed due to outbreaks of COVID-19 between teams. That midweek offer is followed by a full roster to be played over three weekend days and highlighted by a massive clash between Manchester City and Chelsea that could blow the title race wide open.
