Arch Manning update: Where he stands in his college recruitment

On National Signature Day 2021, there’s a big name in high school football that didn’t make the headlines: Arch Manning.

The reason you haven’t heard where the number one high school soccer recruit is going is because Manning is just a junior in high school. Manning is the number one recruit for the Class of 2023, so we may have to wait a bit to find out where Manning ends up going.

But, a decision for Manning’s legacy may come before December 2022. Here’s the latest news on Manning’s college recruiting journey.

Who is Arch Manning?

Arch Manning is the number one soccer recruit in the class of 2023 and a five-star quarterback. He is the son of Cooper Manning, and his uncles are legendary quarterbacks Peyton and Eli, and his grandfather is Archie.

The 16-year-old is a third-year student at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans. His father and uncles attended the same high school.

What schools are Arch Manning considering?

Manning has not decided where he will go to college, but he has many offers. Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Texas, Tennessee (where Peyton was) and Ole Miss (where Eli and Archie were) have all offered Arch a spot on their teams once he graduates. He has been visiting the schools this year, in addition to attending some of their soccer games.

But when should we expect Manning to commit to a school? In October, Manning spoke to Sports Illustrated and offered that his decision may come well before National Signature Day 2022.

“I think I’ll have a good idea, a good feeling, probably next summer or next spring,” Manning said. “Right now I have no idea.”

As a quarterback, Manning will most likely make an early decision about where he wants to attend, but he won’t officially sign until next December.

What universities are at the top of Arch Manning’s list?

One of the Isidore Newman High School games aired on ESPNU on October 22 (this was not the first time Manning was on national television), and during the game, Mark Schlabach, ESPN analyst talked about the best schools in Manning.

“From what people have told me around Isidore Newman, I think he will wait for the [college] coaches carousel to settle after this season. And then go out and make your official visits and make a decision late next spring or summer, “Schlabach said.” But certainly Texas, Georgia and Alabama seem to think they are in a pretty good position. “

Alabama tends to rank among all analysts’ top picks for Manning. Alabama coach Nick Saban talked about Manning at Peyton and Eli’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast earlier this season, and subtly pitched the high school student saying that quarterbacks like to be surrounded. of the best talents.

Speaking of coaches subtly trying to get Manning to come to their school, Ole Miss’s head coach Lane Kiffin was at one point just following Manning on Instagram. Since then, he now follows 68 people, including Manning.

Georgia fans definitely want Manning to commit to their school. When Manning visited Georgia in September, fans painted their bodies to spell out “We want Arch!” The schools are doing everything they can to make Manning a part of their team.
